My father would have celebrated his 100th birthday on December 20, 2022.
An opportunity to highlight some of his most outstanding works.
Svend Wiig Hansen, 1922-1997, Danish sculptor, painter and graphic artist, trained at the Academy of Fine Arts 1946-50. Svend Wiig Hansen's highly personal and vitally expressive language of form unfolded equally effortlessly in drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture and glass mosaic, always with the human body at the centre. In his vast and richly faceted oeuvre, including numerous self-portraits, he identified with pathos and fervour the isolation of the individual and his passionate interaction with others.
